Brenda Rowe

Brenda Rowe was invited to speak to the Rosemount Technology Centre community. Her presentation described "Seven Keys to Success." They were as follows:

1) having a burning desire to succeed;
2) realizing the importance of your self-perception;
3) having the right attitude and determination;
4) knowing your goals;
5) managing your time;
6) developing interpersonal skills; and.
7) taking advantage of available resources.


Biography
Brenda Rowe was born and raided in a small community in NorthCarolina along with her six brothers and six sisters. She received her Bachelor of Psychology from Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama and a Master of Higher Education in Student Personnel Administration from Iowas State University in Ames, Iowa. Prior to moving to Montreal in 1981, Brenda worked as an administrator and teacher at several universities in the United States.

As founder and President of BFR Consultants, Ms. Rowe developed and facilitated workshops and seminars for corporations, churches, colleges and community organizations throughout Canada and the U.S. She is presently serving as the coordinaator for The Learning Centre at John Abbott College and she teaches Women's Studies at Concordia University's Simone de Beauvoir Institute.

In Montreal, Brenda has served as job-search placement officer, couselor, fundraiser, conference organizer, mentor, workshop facilitator, proposal writer and motivational speaker for many organizations in the Black community, inlcuding the Black Community Resource Centre, the Jamaica Association and the Black Community Council of Quebec.
