1993-1994

Rosemount Technology Centre obtains school status with Marzia Michielli as Centre Director.

Richard Bonomo, a Preparation for Printing student wins the Gold Medal at the1993 Canadian Skills Olympics.

1994 - 1995

In September the Ministère de l'Education grants loans and bursaries to vocational education students.

Chris Dardzinsky, a Preparation for press student wins a gold medal at the Montreal Board of Trade competition.

1995 - 1996

Automated systems in electromechanics program moves from Westhill to Rosemount Technology Centre

Zbigniew Sobolewski, an RTC student in Industrial Drafting receives a Skills Olympics silver medal.

1996 - 1997

Rosemount Technology Centre is allocated a $1.8 million Provincial Government grant to restructure and upgrade its facilities. Construction is completed by September.

Printing and Finishing is offered at RTC in English for the first time in Quebec.

Professional Cuisine is moved out of the Rosemount Technology Centre.

Miroslaw Rowicki, an RTC Prepress student wins the Graphic Arts Students Association design contest.

1997 - 1998

Rosemount wins National Partners in Education Award

The award, administered by the Conference Board of Canada, showcases business-education initiatives and recognizes the people who make partnerships happen. More than 50 business partners participate in advising RTC through sectorial Cusiness Advisory Committees, organizing student stages and teacher upgrading, and pursuing initiatives such as the piloting of a new Cabinetmaking apprenticeship program in Quebec.

    Montreal Board of Trade Competition winners include:

    • Craig Dion, Prepress student wins a gold medal.
    • Joseph Tyo, Cabinetmaking student, is awarded a bronze medal

    Julie Wong, a student in Cabinetmaking wins first prize in "The Hats Off to You" competition for women in non-traditional careers.

    Seiji Gutierrez, Prparation for Printing student and Ma thieu Prevost from Cabinetmaking, both win Bronze Medals in the Skills Olympics Competition.

    1998 - 1999

    RTC receives the Roy C. Hill Award, a Provincial Award for Excellence from the Canadian Teachers Federation for innovation in teaching and initiative in creating the robot arm.

    The Preparation for Press program is replaced by the more up-to-date Computer Graphics Techniques program.

    Bridget McCarthy and Francine Tessier of Cabinetmaking represent the Montreal English School Board in the "Hats Off to You" Competition for Women in Non-Traditional Careers. Bridget McCarthy wins first prize.

    The Montreal Board of Trade Competition awards Bridget McCarthy from Cabinetmaking a bronze medal.

    RTC's robot arm wins first prize in the Quebec Entrepreneurship Contest for the Montreal region.

    1999 - 2000

    Telecommunications is offered for the first time at RTC.

    RTC students Chris Hemens, in Cabinetmaking, and Metod Kolla, in Machining, each win a Gold Medal at the Skills Olympics Competition. Gue Lacroix, in Cabinetmaking, wins a bronze.

    Aaron Miechkota, a Computer Graphics student, is awarded a Bronze Medal for the Montreal Board of Trade Competition.

    The last group of Hairdressing students graduate from RTC.

    2000 -2001

    Starting a Business is offered for the first time at RTC.

    The last group of Accounting students graduate from RTC.

    Atiff Hussain, an Industrial Drafting student, is a finalist in the Montreal Board of Trade Competition.

    Cabinetmaking student Corinne Brom is a finalist and represents the school board in the "Hats off to You" Competition for Women in Non-Traditional Careers.

    2001 - 2002

    RTC wins second prize in the Canadian Annual Robotics Competition for "Rosie" a student-produced and -designed robot.

    Marion Armstrong, a Digital Layout and Printing student is honoured by the Island Council with the Women of Merit Award and Peter Byron receives the Governor General's Award.

    Elizabeth Doval in Digital Layout & Printing and Carla Piumbini in Industrial Drafting were winners of the "Hats Off to You" Competition for Women in Non-Traditional Careers.

    RTC Students were extrememly successful in the 2001/2002 Skills Olympics competition. Peter Byron won both the regional and provincial gold medal in Industrial Drafting. Eric Lussier, in Industrial Drafting, Jamie Bachelder, in Cabinetmaking and Dana Rempel, in Computer Graphics, were all awarded the Regional Silver Medals.

    Vanessa Geiring was a finalist in the Montreal Board of Trade Competition.

    2002 - 2003

    Renovation to implement the Furniture Finishing and Industrial Machine Operation program are done.

    A record number of students graduated from RTC with Diplomas d'ètudes professionel from the Ministère de l'Education
